The Art Blog recently announced its list of 2013 Liberta award winners and selected “The Letters” exhibition, featuring Matthew Rose as the best solo show of 2013.
A quote from Roberta Fallon (Art Blog editor) proclaimed that “The best solo exhibit that was a museum show, a group show, and a massive file cabinet of his mind – Matthew Rose”
“The Letters” exhibition was a conceptually-based body of text works, images and objects that delve into the worlds of alphabets, letters, books, mixed messages and their meanings. The artist mailed 333 text and collage works on paper and canvas as well as a number of terribly unusual objects over a course of several months from his Paris studio to the gallery specifically for this exhibition.
