Artwork Appraisals

We get asked quite frequently to appraise artwork, or give a value of a piece that was discovered in an attic, a collection inherited from a loved one, or a rare find from an estate sale. Unfortunately we only have experience in determining the value of artwork by living artists that we currently represent, or have worked with in the past. If you would like to determine the value of a piece of artwork, here are some resources to check out.

Donate Your Art

We accept donations of unwanted artwork, which will find a new home and help support our mission through our annual art auction.

The Local Pawn Shop/Antique Store/Auction House

Pawn Shops and Antique stores often have artwork for sale and might know more about particular artists from the area. Or they might just have a running average for what artwork sells for in their shop.  This is also your best bet if you’d like to get rid of the piece quickly (but don’t expect to get much for the piece of artwork). Here are some area shops that might be able to help you out:

Cillo’s Antiques – (570) 327-9272
Newberry Exchange – (570) 329-2808
Callahan’s Antiquities – (570) 368-2597

Keystone Auctioneers – (570) 329-1005
Roan Auctions – (570) 494-0170
Nolan Auctions – (570) 326-7036

Contact Other Galleries

Reach out to a Gallery that is presently working with, or has worked in the past with this artist. They should be able to give you an idea of their current prices.

David Armstrong Inquiries

If you are looking for help with pricing David Armstrong print pricing or for originals, check out The Open Door Gallery in Lewisburg at (570) 524-7904. They might be able to help out. At this time we are not interested in purchasing or consigning any of his work. We do have an original seascape painting by his son Chris Armstrong for sale.
